Conversations in Sculpture

June 10, 2018 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Free

New! Arts at AJU is pleased to present Conversations in Sculpture, an afternoon of encounters between artists, text and works in the Sondra and Marvin Smalley Sculpture Garden at the American Jewish University.

The event will feature writers, poets, and thinkers Rachel Kann, Sarah Klegman, Alexander Nemser, and Deenah Vollmer responding directly to works in the Garden. These encounters represent the intersection of Arts at AJU and the Institute for Jewish Creativity, an ongoing project of American Jewish University that supports Jewish artists in Los Angeles.

Taking place in the Sondra & Marvin Sculpture Garden – one of LA’s best kept secrets including works by Sol Lewitt, Jenny Holzer and Charles Ginnever – this event will invite the audience to experience the Garden as an inspiring field for engagements in and around the works, as well as the surrounding area.

For the second in this series, we will feature writers from AJU’s Institute for Jewish Creativity community.
