Dual Opening Receptions and Artist Talk

Please join us Sunday, January 12, 3-5pm, for dual opening receptions and an artist talk.

At the Platt and Borstein Galleries, Israeli artist Michal Heiman will open Hearing, her first-ever exhibition on the West Coast, in which she continues to excavate the histories of discarded women, who were imprisoned in asylums during the nineteenth century.

Michal will be in conversation with Zhenya Gershman, an internationally renowned scholar and independent scholar and museum educator. Gershman is also co-Founder and President of Project AWE, a non-profit foundation for the arts and education.

At AJU’s Project Room, the exhibition The Painting’s Not Really on the Wall will open for public view, with works by Josef Albers, Mary Corse, Laddie John Dill, Yankel Ginzburg and Ed Moses.
